Following its successful launch last year, the Forty Hall Farm Beer and Blues Festival is back for 2017!

With two stages of some of the best rhythm and blues around, the Festival will include a line-up of local blues acts, as well special guests from further afield. There will be over 20 ales and cider on tap from local London producers, as well as delicious local street food. The full line-up will be confirmed very soon.

Children and families are very welcome to attend the festival but please note that this event is aimed at adults, so there will be very limited activities for children.

Advance tickets includes access to shuttle bus to and from Enfield Town and Enfield Chase train stations.

12.00noon: The Hook

The Hook are an original three piece band, playing original songs as well as interpretations of more familiar Blues / Rock material, they have been together on and off since 2005, have played many gigs and are very popular on the biker festival circuit also being asked to play at the Ace Cafe London many times, the have made many friends opening for big name acts such as The Yardbirds, The Pirates, The Savages, Stony Curtis Band, Devon Allman Band, Jucy Lucy, and the Kast Off Kinks, the later of which Mick Avory commented “Your like a Blues Motorhead!"

1.00pm: Jenny Wren & Her Borrowed Wings

 Powerful emotional vocals delivered with an open hearted honesty, supported by a heartbeat bass and dancing dirt road guitars. A UK trio playing original music with gusto, intuitive togetherness and impressive musicianship. Innovative combinations of musical influences drawn from the very best parts of the Roots/Americana music traditions

2.00pm The Sam Kelly Band

Sam Kelly leads his bands from the drum throne and has earned an enviable reputation in British Blues. One of the best drummers you’ll ever see and one of Blues in Britain’s ‘Gallery of Greats’ Expect a set of funky blues from this highly accomplished band.

3.00pm:The Guy Tortora Band

We are absolutely delighted to welcome the The Guy Tortora Band back to the Beer and Blues Festival. .
Guy was born and raised in Pasadena, California and has been London based for some time now. Over the past few years, he has laid claim to a unique niche in the Blues  & Roots scene in the UK and Europe playing small clubs, theatres and festivals. An accomplished  guitar player and a songwriter of distinction, he has played live with the likes of Eric Clapton, Pee Wee Ellis, John Cleary and Eric Bibb.
Guy has two nominations for the 2016 British Blues Awards for Blues album and Blues song, and has been described by Paul Jones on his BBC Radio 2 show “Excellent songwriting. Subtle, beautiful….and lovely slide guitar”.

4.00pm Dawn Sandalls & The Raiders

Fronting the band on lead vocals is international blues/jazz vocalist, Dawn Sandells. Dawn worked extensively on the USA circuit fronting many bands with her unique voice and also releasing several albums of her own as well as performing with Jonny Lang and The New Power Generation (Prince). Back on home turf in Wales, Dawn has opened for  Bonnie Tyler, Dr Feelgood, The Yardbirds, Humphrey Littleton to name but a few, she has also been a regular at the Cork & Kinsale Jazz Festival for the last 6 years. Sassy soulful singer Dawn Sandells hails from Machynlleth. Her funky 5 piece band plays a repertoire of funky jazzy blues and features some of the best players around. Joined for this festival by Jules Fothergill on guitar, Jim Russell on drums, John McKenzie on bass, Alex Richards on Keys and Jeff Savage on Harmonica.

5.00pm: Mark Harrison

 Mark is one of the best exponents of original Roots & Blues in the UK, nominated for many awards over the years, those of you who have seen him before will know what we mean.Mark’s unique songs are attracting a lot of attention and he has established a growing reputation for the individuality of his music. He takes elements of blues and folk, adding his own twist to produce something totally original. His music, with its memorable tunes and strong and compelling rhythms, has been going down very well with audiences of all kinds and ages. He plays with some of the best musicians on the circuit. Mark will be joined by Ed Hopwood on percussion and harmonica. "Really excellent _ he takes very real things, normal things that happen in life, and writes about them in a way that makes you think afresh about them" (Paul Jones, BBC Radio 2)

6.00pm:Low Down Dogs

The Low Down Dogs provide acoustic and electric blues that meanders from the Mississippi Delta via Memphis and Chicago to the New River Delta! Mad Dog Dave Barnes possesses the best Blues voice in the business and he is also a master of slide guitar and harmonica.  With a band to match, comprising Vintage players John Crowther on lead guitar & mandolin and sharing vocal duties, Dave Thomas on bass and vocals, and Pete Abernethy on drums.

7.00pm: Steve Taylor’s Semitones

Steve Taylor is one of the finest keyboard players around. He has played with some of the top names in venues from Chicago to New Orleans. He brings that piano  sound to Beer and Blues along with The 'Sultan of Slide', Martin Fieber, who is probably Britain’s best kept slide guitar secret. Prepare to be impressed.

8.00pm: Gentlemen of Few

Gentlemen of Few were formed along the South-East coast of England in 2009. Founded by four young musicians who shared a broad and varied history of musical experience between them, spanning multitudes of genres, styles and formats, they are an outstanding Country and Bluegrass band. Not strictly Blues, but we guarantee you’ll love them!

9.00pm:  Boom La Tete

Playing an  exciting and energetic mix of Blues and Gypsy Jazz, Boom La Tete are guaranteed to have you dancing. We are deligthed to welcome them back to Beer and Blues. Their style is infectious their energy is contageous and their musicianship is second to none. You'll love Boom La Tete.

10.00pm Blues Chapter

Deserving to headline the main stage The Blues Chapter are still officially  the finest young (just) blues band in the capital, returning to rock the house with their blend of original and classic material. One of the finest festival bands around; Sky Wood’s vocals, harmonica and acoustic guitar set the tone with the full band comprising Jesse Thomas on lead guitar and backing vocals, Jake (Professor Redhair) Thomas on keyboards, Noel Martin tonight on bass and the incomparable Niol Sweeney on the drum throne from where he also contributes backing vocals.
